There is a feeling of calm evoked by a long distance view. From eighty metres above the sea and framed by three hundred miles of horizon, our clients are pleased with their break from the confines of a vertical city.
Conscious of the view and listening to friend's enjoyment of a nearby home saying 'there's a window every time you need one, we have paid heed to both sentiments in designing the North Coast House.'
During both winter and summer here there is not much shadow from the sun so the direct north-south orientation of the bedroom wing wakes with you in the morning and warms the rooms in the evening.
The lounge is the deepest in the sequence of moves in the landscape and the place from which the view is properly enjoyed. The centre of the room has the indent of the upper storey and around the edge is all of full height glass.
